We the fans of the band "WAR" wish to petition the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the induction of "WAR" into the RRHOF. We feel that it has been a long time coming and they have been unjustly left off the list of final inductee's twice (2009 and 2012).
The original line up of WAR reads like all star band, Papa Dee Allen, Harold R Brown, BB Dickerson, Lonnie Jordan, Lee Oskar (the harmonica wizard), Charles Miller and their leader Howard E Scott. Their induction would only enhance the RRHOF. WAR was born from humble beginnings and grew to world wide fame. Their music not only captures the late sixties and seventies but it also melded all the different sound that were emanating from the streets, ghettos and counter culture.
WAR captured a block of time that was born of the streets from which they came and help create a soundtrack for a generation. From "Spill the Wine (with Eric Burdon)" to "Lowrider" WAR creativity is more relevant than ever and still shine's on television (programs and commercials) as well as motion pictures. Their catalog includes 9 certified gold albums and 2 platinum certified albums.
