Recently, in Hawthorne, CA, a young man was filming police on his cell phone as they raided a home. The officers on the scene decided they didn't like what he was doing, so they infringed upon his rights and decided to arrest him.

With him, was his beloved Rottweiler, who he put in the car as this commotion was going on. The dog started barking uncontrollably at the sight of his master being manhandled. And, when one of the officers pulled out his gun and pointed it at the young man, the dog jumped from the car in defense of his master. The young man yelled at the officer not to shoot his dog, as he was not a violent animal, but the officer shot the animal nonetheless... THREE TIMES... killing the animal.

This whole incident was nothing more than the officers wanting to flex their muscles because they were not happy that they were being filmed! They need to be held accountable for the tragic end result!

We, the undersigned, call on the Hawthorne, CA Police Dept. to take action against the officers involved in the shooting death of an innocent animal who was simply concerned for his master's well-being and caused no harm to anyone, nor was he trying to.

A message needs to be sent to the officers in this country who feel that they are allowed to violate the rights of law-abiding citizens!
