Target:
Kenneth P. Cameron, President of HOA
Region:
United States of America

Homeowners in the Harford Town subdivision located in Abingdon, MD who possess portable basketball nets were recently sent letters via certified and 1st Class mail giving them 5 days to correct violations related to section 2 of Article VIII Architectural Control and section 10 of Article IX Use Restrictions.

The letter references "the Board of Directors receiving numerous complaints from Homeowners, other members and several motorists about the basketball net."

As a resident of Harford Town I am disputing the HOA's contention that portable basketball nets are in violation of section 2 of Article VIII and section 10 of Article IX due to the following points:

1. Section 2 applies to building structures such as sheds, decks, etc.

2. Portable basketball nets maintained in private property driveways are excluded.

3. No residents receiving violation notices have been cited for "noxious or offensive trade or activity by Harford County law enforcement, therefore the violation notices have been distributed based on hearsay.
