Girls Fastpitch Grant for Aquila Field Complex

I’m writing to you to ask for your support in shepherding a grant request from the St. Louis Park Park & Rec department to help us build two softball fields at Aquila Park.
The Girls Fastpitch Association has been fighting to provide a modicum of gender equity in facilities for our girls for the past eight years.
The city recognized this disparity 18 months ago and set up a task force to start to remedy this inequity. We have progressed to the point where plans have been approved to begin to build a complex starting with two new fields at Aquila next spring.
The St Louis Park Fastpitch Softball Association and the St Louis Park Park and Recreation team have worked very hard together to come to this point where we are. We are excited to continue this collaboration!
The Hennepin Co. grant would go a long way toward helping us move forward with this project and provide an equal "playing field" for our girls.
