| Don’t allow Fisher Island to put our flood insurance discounts in danger | 1 Signatures |

Target: MIAMI BEACH CITY STAFF & COMMISSIONERS

Petition text:
I am a resident of Miami Beach. On April 4, the Floodplain Management Board will hear appeals of two building permits the City issued for new condominiums on Fisher Island that appear to violate the city’s Floodplain Management regulations.
I understand that if FEMA determines that a community is not enforcing its Floodplain Management regulations, it can eliminate discounts that the residents of the community receive when buying flood insurance. Many of us live on fixed incomes or paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford higher flood insurance premiums.
We, the undersigned, strongly urge Miami Beach Commissioners and City staff to make sure that Fisher Island developers follow the rules and are not allowed to take actions that might cost us all.
