Thank you for participating in our End Wild Animals in Entertainment petition. Over 185 other concerned individuals agree we must end the exploitation of wild animals for the purpose of human entertainment.
Please contact Bonnie Osaki at bosaki@hawaiianhumane.org if you wish to help encourage Oahu to be a more compassionate and responsible community.
Volunteers are needed for youth education initiatives, community awareness activities, teen programs and more.
Wild animals are forced to live in environments that are completely unnatural and which do not meet their needs. Wild or undomesticated animals have well-established psychological, behavioral and environmental needs. Even animals born in captivity retain their natural wild instincts.
Carnivals & circuses depict animals in unnatural settings and performing unnatural behaviors. These creatures are trained totally against their natural instincts to perform for the purpose of entertainment. Such demonstrations have a desensitizing effect, causing people to possibly have unrealistic ideas about wild animals. Many do not realize the extent of animal suffering caused by the entertainment industry.
The goal of a business is to make money and the entertainment industry is no different. Profit often overshadows the animal needs.
Sign this petition to encourage lawmakers to ban the use of wild animals in entertainment on Oahu.
