Category: Youth
Region: Australia
Target: David Conry - Executive Officer of Youngcare
Background (Preamble):
* Currently 6500 young Australian's live in aged care facilities.

*21% go outside the aged care home less than once a month

*44% receive a visit from friends less than once a year

These statistics stated above are so awful and so hard to believe. That's the thing, it is truth.

Youngcare was formed by a young lady who battled with multiple sclerosis who saw a need in the community for better living facilities for young Australians with high care needs.

In 2007, with the help of the businesses, local and state governments and the community ---- people like you and I, Youngcare finished building a block of 14 state of the art apartments to cater for young Australians with high care needs. These are located in QLD.

See www.youngcare.com.au for more information.

What I am asking you to agree with and sign for is that you believe this is a worth while project that would benefit many young people within the Hunter region.

Please support the many young Australians living in the Hunter region that need this kind of living arrangements.

Can you imagine being 20 or 30 years old and being in a nursing home because there is no where else for you to live?

We need to reach 5000 signatures by December 10th 2009.
Petition:
Dear Mr Conry,

We, the undersigned, are supporters of Youngcare and its development opportunities. We believe that there is a great need in the Hunter region of NSW for a set of Youngcare apartments to be built.

We ask that you work closely with your team at Youngcare to plan for a set of Youngcare apartments to be built in the Hunter region of NSW in the very near future.
