Background (Preamble):
In a large Federal Government study conducted over a 20 year period the Centers for Disease Control concluded that attacks by pitbulls accounted for one third of the fatal dog attacks in the United States, from which 70% of those mauling deaths were children.
This study also cited the disproportionate threat these
dogs pose to children as opposed to other breeds.
Vet Med Today JAVMA volume217 No. 6 sept 15 2000 states that fatal attacks on humans appear to be a breed - specific PitBull type dog breed problem.

We, the undersigned, call on the Town Council of Indian
Springs Nevada to Ban the ownership of the PitBull
breed of dog from our community and implement a
stronger stance against owners who do not keep their dogs restrained by a yard or leash at all times.
