Background (Preamble):
As a grandparent who has long term relative care for almost six years, I feel that we should have the automatic right to adopt our grandchildren after three years. It gets emotional draining on both the care givers and the children.
After three years of closure to Long Term if the parent hasn't done their case plan we should have the automatic right to adopt without costs to us. I checked into doing this and it will cost us over $5,000.00. As caregivers, we are limited to our travels until the child turns 18.
If we are good enough to raise them, then let us adopt them automatically if we want to. This will also be great for the child who wants stability.

The court would at the request of the care giver grant adoption of the child s after a home study and wave all court costs and trials.
