The American Public Policy Alliance has proposed state legislation titled American Laws for American Courts. It has passed in four states: Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona and Kansas and is working its way through a couple dozen state legislatures.
In a nutshell, this legislation is designed to protect American Citizens from the implementation of any foreign, transnational or United Nations law which would threaten the individual liberty and freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States. This includes, but is not limited to the implementation of Islamic Sharia Law in the United States.
A study of 50 cases in 23 states has found that this indeed is a problem in the Constitutional Republic of The United States. More information on these cases can be found here: http://shariahinamericancourts.com/
