City of Los Angeles has an ordinance that directs residents to gain entry into the rear of their property by the alleys behind the residential houses in Vermont Square, However, the alleyways are in such disrepair that automobiles cannot safely access them without getting damaged. In many areas, the alleys are void of asphalt all together. Residents cannot access the alley, thus cannot access their properties.
Additionally, many residents in the area walk and children play on the sidewalks in front of their houses. But several sidewalks are not safe and can lead to injury because of the holes, bumps, and raised areas in the sidewalks in the neighborhood.
We believe that residents in the South Los Angeles neighborhood deserve safe and clean areas in the front and rear of their homes. Sidewalk and alley repair are essential to a healthy and safe neighborhood.
We, the undersigned, are asking the City of Los Angeles to repair sidewalks and alleyways in the 1400 block of West 45th and 46th Streets in Los Angeles, California.
