The SPCA has been trying to shut down and adopt the dogs in puppy mills they have successfully raided many puppy mills. The SPCA and other shelters really need our help.
We are all part of the same community, and we should do some small and easy things to help every one in it. Fight for the ones who can't.

Canada has so many puppy mills it's hard to count.
What are puppy mills?
Puppy mills are illegal breeders that breed dogs only for money. They breed so many dogs per year and they give them almost no water and barely any food, they keep around 5 dogs in a tiny rusty cage with no exercise. Some dogs are paralysed from not being able to move a lot. Also the people that own the puppy mills, very rarely or never clean the dogs cages, so the urine smell is so bad that some dogs can't breath, or have very severe infections in their lungs.
How come the dogs at the pet store don't look sick?
That's because the people that run the puppy mills send the puppy's to the pet shops when they are very young, even before they are supposed to be separated from their mother.
90% of the cute little puppys you see in pet shops come from puppy mills.
