I, James Staniforth-Smith of P.O. 9 Dongara of Western Australia, am the promoter of this petition.
We the undersigned are in support of Commercial Producer's & Commercial Purposes Licences being granted for picking Scaevola Spinescens (Maroon Bush) due to strong demand & a long history of use in Western Australia. The Health Dept has supported the picking of Maroon Bush for many years.
This will give patients who choose to use it as an alternative treatment for their health, a choice. A personal licence is not an option for those either too unwell or unable to find & identify it.
Your petitioners therefore respectively request the Legislative Council to support the granting of Commercial Producer's & Commercial Purposes Licences for picking Scaevola Spinescens (Maroon Bush).
