I was sent a petition to sign, from a deacon in our church, trying to have this film banned. I didn't want to act in a hasty manner and need more info on what the film actually contains. If it's saying Jesus acted in an immoral fashion, I would have a problem with that. However, if it is only proposing the fact that Jesus may have been homosexual, well he was human as well as divine. Isn't homosexuality part of being human? Therefore, I won't be adding my name to any petition at the moment, until such time as something really rubs me the wrong way.

I have got to get the following off my chest:

It was probably the 10th time that I received an e-mail from a friend about the Corpus Christi movie protest, and I decided to forward it to a certain group of friends.
BUT then I received an e-mail from a friend resenting the fact that I have added him and his wife's name to the list in the CC-header,

I felt bad about that, as he didn't want everybody to get hold of their e-mail address, nor did he want to be the recipient of spam mail.....However, to add to my total flabbergastedness and dismay, he continued to attack chain e-mails and a protest like this, by us Christians. I MEAN, HOW CAN ONE JUST NOT SAY ANYTHING against such nonsense, to put it plainly.
IT is blasphemous and total herecy, and goes directly against the Word of God (the INSPIRED truth).

Yes, I agree we must act in love, but I can NOT agree that IT IS WRONG TO STAND up against something THAT IS TOTALLY WRONG. If we, as Christ's children don't stand up against the media and others, those whom are already deceived and those who are already questioning the Lord Christ's existence, will be continued to be lead astray, as this cunning act implies to do......

This is NOT to attack anybody who has a personal preference against chain e-mails or spam, BUT just a serious urge from the bottom of my heart to NOT KEEEEEEP QUIET AND TO KEEP SENDING THAT EMAILS!!!!

First off... I am from South Africa, a little further behind the food chain than most countries but also alot further behind in the sense of such plays where our communities wouldnt be ok with such nonesense. Who are we protecting? OUR CHILDREN what are they if not for instilling the lord into their hearts. Who are we if not living for some idea of a furtherance of oursleves when our time is up on this earth. I believe in God I believe in his word... I have my own understanding of what MY CHURCH is and where I stand with the Lord God.... but for someone to be able to make him out to be homesexual... this is wrong in all aspects! nothing good can come of this! I say no... and freedom of speech is one thing... but this kind of stuff is just not on! there probbably isnt that much we can do about it... cause... we just dont seem to stand together as much as other faiths do... I guess thats where we need to start first! stand together... if we believe in god... we believe in our ability to stand as one with one understanding that we all love god. Forget about all the small details and concentrate on that fact that God... is GOD! and that standing together and saying no to something like this is the first of our steps in togetherness!

Yes, there is a play called Corpus Christ, but, to date, no movie has been, or is about to be made about it!

Jesus Christ is the King of Kings. Thru His blood we were all bought. There is noone like Him. God is so powerfull that He can wipe out those who mock Him. Remember He is the one who created the heavens, the earth and all that dwells in it. He created you and me. He is the only one who gives life and take it away. If indeed whats being said (that a movie is going to be shown in America) is true. Then the Lord will directly deal with them and it does not require a petition. Those are the works of the Devil and we all know that the Devil was defeated by our Mighty God. Even when Jesus resurrected a rumour circulated among those who crucified Him that his body was taken by His disciples in order to make people not believe that He infact resurrected. That was the work of the devil. And I believe there was no petition written to the people to stop the rumour because everyone knows the truth. If the people of this website are trying to create chaos in the world Im sorry to say, God will do justice to you for it is written that everyone will be judged according his'her deeds.

Your friend was upset because you added his e-mail address because these petitions aren't more than a way to get you to pass other people's e-mail address for them to get spam. Think it this way, I got the same e-mail and I sent it to 5 of my friends...they all got it and forwarded it to their friends these e-mails are hundreds of different lists...who are we going to present the banner to? it is not that the list will be adding all of the people getting this e-mail there are many lists that will be rolling around until people stop passing them. There is not benefit more for doing this more than informing people about the existence of this movie.

the fact that its a fake petition is one thing, but the general public's ignorance is another. its a film/play, therefore, its not real, if you we're to oppose everything that offended you, you might as well be against modern society.

I believe in this world a person must know what they believe. Unfortunately many people don't know what to believe. The common thought is truth is irrelevant.
Well, we know truth is not irrelevant.
We cannot make anyone believe the truth. I believe we have some responsibility to share it.
Then each person can make their own choice.
I was relieved myself when I went on line to make sure this was a farce and found that it was.
People are entitle to their own opinions in what play scripts they write. As also they are entitled to speak against them. At least in the great country of America.
